Voices for Progress advocates for progressive public policy that adheres to a core set of values.

Voices for Progress advocates for policies rooted in the beliefs that all people everywhere should have the opportunity to provide a decent life for themselves and their families through hard work, that all people should be treaded with dignity and protected from discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability or sexual identity, and that we should do all we can to leave the world better than we found it. We support:

Health Care Reform: All Americans should have access to quality, affordable health care.

Stopping Climate Change and Protecting the Environment: We will work toward comprehensive energy, clean air and climate change policies that stop global warming, create jobs and make the US a leader in the new green energy economy.  We will fight to preserve the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate global warming pollution and to protect the public health.

Immigration Reform: We support comprehensive immigration reform that provides a path to citizenship.

Civil Rights: We oppose discrimination, support policies like the Paycheck Fairness Act, and believe in ending discriminatory policies such as Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

Education: We support adequate funding to provide all children and adults with high-quality education and training to maximize their potential.

Jobs and the Economy: We want to stimulate the economy and build its potential for the future with investments in infrastructure, green jobs, and education. While the deficit should be reduced once the economy has recovered, this should be accomplished primarily through economic growth and fair taxation in which those who can most afford it and have benefitted the most from the opportunities our country provides pay a larger share of their income or inheritance than others.

Reproductive Freedom: Women and men – not politicians – deserve the right to make decisions about their reproductive health in accordance with their own personal beliefs.

Campaign Finance Reform: We support pubic financing of campaigns and efforts to minimize the impact of wealth and corporate money on elections.
