Alex Baptiste

Vice President: Policy

Alex Baptiste (she/her) is the Vice President: Policy at Voices for Progress. In this role, she leads the organization’s policy & legislative work federally and for California. Before joining V4P, Alex was the Director of Policy and Research at the Hub Project where she led the policy initiatives and developed strategic plans to support the organization’s various campaigns. Prior to The Hub, she was Policy Counsel at the National Partnership for Women & Families where her portfolio focused on state and federal workplace and care economy policy. Alex holds a B.A. in English from Georgetown University and a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Alex sits on the Board of Directors of the Reproductive Health Access Project and is passionate about safeguarding our democracy, access to abortion and reproductive health care, and social justice.

Originally from Philadelphia, Alex enjoys traveling, reading with her book club, and running on the National Mall. 

Most staff are employed by Voices for Progress Education Fund, a project of Tides Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Voices for Progress, a project of Tides Advocacy, a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, covers the cost of any work performed on its behalf via a cost-sharing agreement.
