Matthew Thomas

Growth and Administrative Associate

Matthew Thomas (he/him) is the Growth and Administrative Associate at Voices for Progress. He supports V4P’s fundraising, recruitment, finance, human resources, and administrative functions. Previously, Matthew worked for Representative Adam Schiff and interned at his local LGBTQ+  Center in Sacramento, California. Matthew graduated from Georgetown University where he received a B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies and Political Science through both “traditional” and experimental courses, including community-based learning and service work in South Africa and a self-designed social impact program focused on consulting and criminal justice reform. He developed a passion for social justice and advocacy at a young age due to his positionality as Black, Chicano, and queer. He is dedicated to advocating for and working with vulnerable communities to make sure their needs are addressed; his interests include sex work policy, trans justice issues, and housing rights. He loves yoga, cooking, thrifting, and going on walks with his puppy, Ollie. He plans to pursue an M.A. in Social Work and continue his efforts within non-profit and advocacy spaces.
