Raviya Ismail
Vice President: Communications

Raviya Ismail (she/her) is the Vice President: Communications at Voices for Progress. Raviya leads all aspects of V4P’s communications strategy nationally and in California. Previously, Raviya was a Communications Director at Green 2.0, and spent many years as a communications strategist at Earthjustice, The Pew Charitable Trusts, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Aspen Institute. Raviya began her career as a journalist and spent time covering the war in Iraq. Raviya holds a B.A. in English from Rutgers University. She is passionate about social justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s rights and reproductive freedom, and civil rights. Raviya enjoys spending time with her family, lifting kettlebells, reading fiction, visiting her home state of New Jersey, and creative writing.
Most staff are employed by Voices for Progress Education Fund, a project of Tides Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Voices for Progress, a project of Tides Advocacy, a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, covers the cost of any work performed on its behalf via a cost-sharing agreement.
